I love the way this forward-facing tuba seems to be watching over the herons gathered around its base, as they seek shelter from the rain. That’s why I have named it “Herron Rocks”. There is a tremendous amount of water action on this fountain.  Water shoots from a brass ball inside the tuba to create a curtain of water over the mouth of the bell. That’s an interesting effect. I have added some clock gears and a pendulum to the nickel-plated valve trombone to give the piece a slight steam punk feel. The trumpet with the spinning ball and the kinetic water wheel are only a couple of the many other interesting additions.
